\u00a0The painting was obtained by the violinist<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Louis_Krasner\" target=\"_blank\"> Louis Krasner<\/a>, the first performer of the violin concertos of both\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/bcaiqL-hFCU\" target=\"_blank\">Schoenberg<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/gKO-GKUgDXw\" target=\"_blank\">Berg<\/a>, from Schoenberg&#8217;s son Georg, <a href=\"http:\/\/schoenbergseuropeanfamily.org\/AS3_Pages\/AS3_Chap4.html\" target=\"_blank\">who miraculously survived the war in Vienna<\/a>. \u00a0Jane Kallir last exhibited Schoenberg&#8217;s paintings in 1985, at the time she published her monograph\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Arnold-Schoenbergs-Vienna-Jane-Kallir\/dp\/B000NIF7ES\">Arnold Schoenberg&#8217;s Vienna<\/a><\/em>, the first study of Schoenberg&#8217;s paintings. \u00a0Schoenberg&#8217;s entire output can be viewed online at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.schoenberg.at\/index.php?option=com_joomgallery&amp;Itemid=339&amp;lang=e\" target=\"_blank\">website of the Arnold Sch\u00f6nberg Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Galerie St. Etienne is offering a Schoenberg painting for sale, perhaps the first one to be put on the market in 100 years. \u00a0Jane Kallir, whose grandfather Otto Kallir founded the gallery, says the 1923 oil painting of Schoenberg&#8217;s &hellip;
